Teaching Practice

My teaching practice is grounded in creating calm, inclusive, and visually engaging learning environments where students feel confident to participate, explore ideas, and develop their own creative voice. I believe Art education should encourage curiosity, reflection, discussion, and critical thinking, while supporting students to make meaningful connections between visual culture, creativity, and everyday life.

I place strong importance on careful planning, clear methodologies, and adaptable teaching strategies that support a wide range of learners and abilities. Influenced by educators such as Lee S Miller, I value process led and student centred approaches that balance structure with experimentation and creative freedom.

Alongside classroom teaching, I enjoy collaborative and cross curricular projects, exhibition making, and integrating students' interests into creative learning experiences. My experience across post primary, SEN, substitute teaching, and workshop settings has strengthened my commitment to reflective, inclusive, and engaging Art education.
